Kenny Wormald is a professional dancer who has now turned to acting – most notably in the latest remake of Kevin Bacon´s movie “Footloose”. Featured extensively in movie videos of Madonna, Mariah Carey, Chris Brown and Nelly Furtado to name just a few.

To be fair I hadnt heard of him until noticing Footloose, originally starring Kevin Bacon, was to be remade.

Luke Evans, one of our few Welsh nominees, was born in Pontypool, grew up in Abergargoed, South Wales before he relocated to Cardiff at 17. He managed to win a London Studio Center scholarship, from which graduated in 2000. Following graduation he went on to star in some theatre productions before landing the role Apollo in Clash of the Titans in 2010.

Judging from the roles which followed we have not seen the last of him yet! Expect to see him as Bard the Bowman in upcoming production “The Hobbit” by Peter Jackson.

Although born in Canada Joshua Jackson actually spent the first eight years of his life living in California before returning to Canada. Decided he wanted to pursue an acting career aged 11 and his mother, who saught to discourage him because of the cruel nature of the industry, took him to his first audition to show this. Instead he landed his first commercial role and thus began is career.

Most well known for his roles in Dawson´s Creek (which is when I first spotted him) and The Fringe (which I´ve seen once…)

Shia Saide LaBeouf career beginnings actually were in stand up comedy – his first gigs being in coffee shops around his neighbourhood. Was inspired to begin acting when a friend of his had a part in Dr Quinn Medicine Woman. Found an agent who liked him for his stand up routine.

He spent sometime working in Disney productions thanks to his comedic background before his film career really started to took off following lead roles in Disturbia and Transformers.

Mark Wahlberg is rapper turned actor and now film and television producer. Those of my generation will remember him as being “Marky Mark” – something he seems to dislike being reminded of (cant really blame him on that score – most especially when the full name was “Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch”).

Really rose to fame following his roles in Boogie Nights, Three Kings and The Perfect Storm – the latter probably being the one where he really started to display what he was capable of.

He is a staunch Roman Catholic and it appears we have his faith to thank for him turning his life around and abandoning “Marky Mark”. Thank God for small mercies, all puns intended.

You may just have to overlook the bug eating from time to time… Plus you may need to remind him to take a bath every now and again when he´s been on one of his man vs nature adventures…. before he greets you.
