The nominations are:-

POLL CLOSED.

Congratulations to Richard Armitage. Thanks to everyone for taking part – see you later this year!

  1. Do we get a picture of RA’s chest as well? : D

  2. No offense to the other blokes, but Richard Armitage is an amazingly talented and inspiring actor, storyteller, filmmaker, and gentleman–who also happens to be handsome. Richard Armitage is a consummate professional as an actor, weaving stories through his character portrayals that leave us spellbound. John Porter, Lucas North, Sir Guy of Gisborne, Claude Monet, Harry Kennedy, and John Standring are but a few of Mr. Armitage’s indelible roles to date. In his searing character portrayals, Mr. Armitage weaves tales of love and loss, intrigue and deception, hope and redemption, and betrayal and honor. Richard Armitage’s character portrayal of Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit films looks to be riveting and inspiring based on the recent movie trailer released last week Here is a link to the trailer provided by Bccmee2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuuZWsY3s8c&feature=player_embedded
Richard Armitage is articulate, intelligent, and unfailingly gracious in interviews. Mr. Armitage also quietly supports several charities that his fans also donate to. There is no contest for our “‘Man’ of the Year”–Richard Armitage wins that contest, if his legion of fans have anything to say about it. It is Richard Armitage’s expressive face and eyes, how his whole body becomes the character he is portraying, and his commanding voice that draw you in to his storytelling. The fact that Richard Armitage is also handsome is a delightful bonus. Cheers! Grati
P.S. But, if you would like to compare apples to apples– similar to your other “hunkie” candidates’ portraits reflecting their physical attributes, as Frenz pointed out–here is a link to a portrait of Richard Armitage portraying Lucas North (the tattoos belonging to the character) in Spooks, series 9 from RANet: http://www.richardarmitagenet.com/images/gallery/Spooks/spookspromo/album/slides/series9-33.html Any questions?

    • I am already a fan of Richard Armitage and have been for many years so your testimony was not required by me although it might help actual voters. Images were chosen because they happened to be the first ones I encountered when setting up the poll – not to try and sway voting in any way. I also happen to like his eyes in this photo.

      Cheers.

      Eliza

  3. And in Richard Armitage’s character portrayals listed above, it was remiss of me to leave out the role that launched a thousand swoons–that of Mr. Armitage’s transformative portrayal of JohnThornton in the 2004 BBC production of North & South. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. Cheers! Grati ;->

  4. I would’ve thought Ian would’ve had more votes than 77! :_______ ( COME ON PEOPLE!

  5. Chris Evans and Ian Somerhalder ;o <333

  6. I must agree that Richard Armitage is the Hunkiest man alive. All those other men have wonderful qualities but not the all around grreatness as Mr. Armitage. As Grati so elequently put it, he is a gentlemann and a scolar as well as being THE most Handsomest man ever! I vote for Richard.

  7. My vote – Mr. Armitage

  8. Sorry, they all look very gay? Is there no other “man”?
    F.e. Alex O’Laughlin

  9. Richard Armitage, naturally! He’s brilliant and talented and my first choice.

I am very curious–how did William Levy get on this list? Has he ever done an English-language production? I know him from “Triunfo del amor” (which to be honest was difficult to get through because it kept on jumping the shark) but have never seen him in anything else. He’s lovely to look at and I’m sure I’ll see him in other telenovelas soon enough. It was a bit surprising to see him on this list, but hey! A shout-out goes to all the William Levy fans out there! :D

    • Being in an English speaking production is no prerequisite for anyone on this site. Its a global site. I live in Spain and am therefore familiar with his work and I, and those who nominated him, deemed him at least worthy of a mention. He is on the list because he was one of the most searched for hunkies during 2011

      • Thanks for clearing that up! I hadn’t seen any of my other favorite Spanish-speaking Hunkies mentioned before when it came to voting time, so seeing Mr. Levy up there was a surprise, but a pleasant one. (Is it too late to nominate Fernando Colunga or Jorge Salinas? I guess so. LOL!) I didn’t know we were allowed to vote for up to three hunkies, because one of those votes would have certainly gone to Mr. Levy (even though I did have trouble getting through Triunfo del amor! LOL).

But with that said, I’m glad that Mr. Armitage is #1! :D

        • Triunfo del amor is definitely a lot to get through :) There is one or two spanish speaking hunkies but we are always in need of a few more to bring balance to the site! Its too late for them to be included in the poll but it is never too late to have them featured on the site :)

  10. @Ann- hmmm…Stephen Fry!
